US Hazards Outlook (Sep 3 – Sep 14, 2012)

The next product I would like to share with everyone.  This product is issued by the Climate Prediction Center Monday through Fridays.  Its a a great tool to help many folks plan for hazardous weather.

300 PM EDT AUGUST 31 2012

SYNOPSIS: THE REMNANT LOW OF FORMER HURRICANE ISAAC IS FORECAST TO MOVE FROM THE OHIO VALLEY TO OFFSHORE OF NEW ENGLAND DURING MID-WEEK. A PAIR OF COLD FRONTS ARE FORECAST TO CROSS THE CENTRAL U.S. WITH THE SECOND FRONT PROGRESSING INTO THE SOUTHERN GREAT PLAINS AND SOUTHEAST LATE IN THE WEEK. A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO RAPIDLY INTENSIFY AS IT TRACKS EAST ACROSS THE BERING SEA. MEANWHILE, THE TROPICS REMAIN ACTIVE AND THE FUTURE TRACK OF TROPICAL STORM LESLIE SHOULD BE CLOSELY MONITORED.

  • LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN FOR THE CENTRAL APPALACHIANS, MID-ATLANTIC, NORTHEAST, AND SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND, MON-TUES, SEP 3-4.
  • HEAVY RAIN ACROSS SOUTHEAST ALASKA AND THE NORTHERN ALASKAN PANHANDLE, MON-WED, SEP 3-5.
  • HIGH WINDS AND WAVES FOR THE ALEUTIANS, SOUTHWEST ALASKA AND COASTAL SOUTHERN ALASKA, MON-WED, SEP 3-5.
  • RIVER FLOODING CONTINUING ACROSS THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY, MON-WED, SEP 3-5.
  • RIVER FLOODING POSSIBLE FOR PARTS OF MISSOURI, ILLINOIS, AND INDIANA, MON-TUE, SEP 3-4.
  • SEVERE DROUGHT FOR PARTS OF THE SOUTHEAST, MIDWEST, MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY, RIO GRANDE VALLEY, GREAT PLAINS, ROCKIES, SOUTHWEST, GREAT BASIN, AND HAWAII.
